NASRDA STRENGTHENS GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP TO DRIVE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing national development through strategic, result-driven collaborations with leading international universities, strengthening key sectors of the nation’s economy.


This was contained in a statement by the Director General and Chief Executive, of the Agency, Dr. Matthew Adepoju, while hosting a combined delegation from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and the University of Delaware, United States of America, at the Agency's Headquarters in Abuja.


The NASRDA boss who was represented by the Director of Human Resources Management, Mrs. Lami Fadiora,  emphasized that NASRDA remains committed to identifying strategic sectors where its space technology expertise can deliver measurable impact. 


He noted that the Agency will continue to foster meaningful partnerships that promote innovation, sustainable development, and nation building.


In his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Professor Kijle Davis, expressed appreciation to NASRDA’s management for the warm reception and engagement, saying the team is eager to collaborate with the Agency to develop a robust platform for effective irrigation monitoring across Nigeria.


According to Professor Davis, NASRDA’s expertise and advanced space-based capabilities present a unique opportunity to deploy satellite-driven solutions that will enhance agricultural productivity, optimize water resource management, and support food security initiatives nationwide.


The meeting featured technical presentations by staff of NASRDA’s Department of Strategic Space Applications, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session during which ideas were exchanged and practical frameworks for collaboration were explored.


The engagement marks another significant step in NASRDA’s ongoing efforts to position space science and technology as a critical driver of sustainable national development.
