The Director General and Chief Executive of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju has called for aggressive planning towards the successful hosting of the proposed Africa Space Economy Innovation and Communication Conference, ASEIC 2026.
He made this call during the inauguration ceremony of the organizing committee for the proposed conference held at NASRDA’s headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Adepoju described the committee as crucial, pointing that selection of members is in recognition of their commitment and capability to efficiently carry responsibilities assigned to them.
He called on members to see the assignment as an opportunity to gain valuable exposure and demonstrate their competence by delivering a successful and globally acceptable conference.
The Director General commended the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Felix Ale, and his earlier assembled team for their dedication in laying the foundation for the conference, adding that he has implicit confident in his ability to successfully lead the members of the committee.
Dr. Adepoju further revealed that President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, is expected as the Special Guest of Honour at the event, while the Vice President and other top government officials have also confirmed their attendance.
He further noted that the conference is expected to be a landmark event, with several Chief Executives and Directors General from across the globe set to attend.
He urged members of the committee to remain focused on the collective interest of the Agency above personal considerations, while emphasizing the critical role of private sector participation in achieving the goals of the conference.
Dr. Adepoju charged members to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the successful hosting of the Africa Space Economy, Innovation and Communication Conference 2026.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Committee who is also the Director Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale, expressed appreciation to the Director General for the opportunity to serve in the committee.
He explained that the committee draws inspiration from the Director General’s dedication and visionary leadership, and the foundation he has laid for the committee to build upon.
Dr. Ale assured the Director General of the committee’s determination to make history, saying the forthcoming conference would stand out as one of the most remarkable events in the history of the Agency.
He added that all ideas geared towards the success of the conference are welcome, pointing that the committee is open for collaboration and innovative ideas.
