Capacity building through in-house training and on the job engagement has been described as one of the most effective ways to enhance efficiency and productivity within an organization.
This formed the main thrust of a lecture delivered by the Director, Media and Corporate Communications of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Felix Ale, during the department’s monthly in-house training program.
The session, which was organized and packaged in line with the directive of the Director General and Chief Executive of NASRDA, Dr Matthew Adepoju was presided over by the Director Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale.
The Special training session again brought together all members of the department, providing a valuable platform to instill in both new and existing staff the principles of professional reportage of the Agency’s activities to the public.
Delivering a lecture on the topic “News Writing and News Reporting,” Dr. Ale described the two concepts as strategic pillars for effective science and technology communication.
He emphasized the importance of comprehensive and professional media coverage of the Agency’s programs and projects, noting that strategic news writing requires adherence to the core features and types of news writing which includes but not limited to accuracy, clarity, objectivity as well as hard news and technology news.
Dr Ale called on members of staff in the department to be up and doing especially at a period the Agency is experiencing a revitalization process under the dynamic leadership of Dr Matthew Adepoju.
The training also featured an unexpected but heartwarming moment as members of staff celebrated Mrs. Kaneng Dagyeng of the Media and Corporate Communications Department on her birthday.
She was lauded as an epitome of discipline and professionalism, attributes that have consistently reflected in her work ethic and contributions to the department.
The celebration was marked by goodwill messages, gift presentations, and moments of fun and camaraderie which are considered as hallmarks of the department’s tradition of fostering unity and motivation among staff.
